Dr. Harald Richer is heading the IGEN-Access programme of GIZ. He joined GIZ in 2006. Prior, taking charge of IGEN-Access Programme in October 2014, he had worked for GIZ Ethiopia, where he was responsible for the reengineering of companies of various industrial sectors and GIZ Namibia, where his focus was on promoting local economic development. Dr. Richter started his professional career in the German automotive and electronic sector optimizing production and logistics processes and was in charge of process automation. He continued his career in Singapore and Cairo as a consultant for industrial planning and system design before joining GIZ. Dr. Richter is an industrial engineer and an environmental scientist. In his PhD thesis he investigated whether greenhouse gas mitigation projects in developing countries can be initiated on local level through local economic development programmes.
Mr. Diego Senoner is working as a Technical Expert for IGEN-Access programme of GIZ and managing various projects. He is currently focusing on photovoltaic power as a clean energy source for water pumps, productive applications for renewable energy solutions, energy and sustainability in agriculture, microfinance and financial products for renewable energy applications, as well as business development. Prior to GIZ, Mr. Senoner has worked as Business Development Manager for Leitner Energy and Leitner Solar, as well as a consultant for Apple Inc. Mr. Senoner holds MSc in Energy Managment from University of Stirling & Bradford and a BA Hons in Peace Studies respectively.
Mr.Jitesh Kumar is working as a Technical Expert for IGEN-Access programme of GIZ based in Patna, Bihar. He is mainly responsible for activities in Bihar. Mr. Kumar has a multi-disciplinary background and has techno-managerial experience of over 5 years. He has been associated with the development sector for about 3 years. His key area of interest are Renewable energy policy, rural energy access for livelihood and access to finance. At present, he is working on the sector development for solar powered irrigation pump’s market and focus on creating demand for the product. In addition to that he is also promoting access to finance for clean energy lighting products. In the past, Mr. Kumar had also supported government of Bihar in implementing the solar water pump scheme in the state. Mr. Kumar holds a Bachelor’s of Engineering degree in Computer Science and Masters in Power Management (MBA-Power).
Mr. Jonas Bartholomay is currently working as an Advisor for IGEN-Access programme of GIZ. Mr. Bartholomay is mainly involved in project management activities dealing with various projects ranging from decentralized rural off-grid energy solutions, clean cooking, microfinance and financial products for renewable energy applications, as well as business development and policy advise. Prior to his assignment with IGEN-Access Mr. Bartholomay was enrolled in the “German Development Cooperation - Young Professional Programme” with duty stations at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the German Federal Metrology Institute (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB)) and GIZ India. Prior to that, Mr. Bartholomay was working with GIZ in the field of renewable energy and rural development in Kenya and Malawi. Mr. Bartholomay holds a Master’s of Science degree in Geography of Global Change from Albert-Ludwigs University, Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany.
Ms. Manisha is working as an Administrative Assistant for IGEN-Access programme of GIZ. In her current profile, she is responsible for administrative tasks like organising events & travel, financial processing, MIS and providing administrative support to the team. Ms. Manisha holds a 'Master's degree in Commerce' from IGNOU and a ‘Bachelor’s degree in Commerce’ from Delhi University.
Mr. Manoj Mahata is working as a Technical Expert for IGEN-Access programme of GIZ based in Kolkata, West Bengal. He is responsible for activities in West Bengal and North Eastern States. Mr. Mahata has over 17 years of experience working in both technical and development sector. He has been working on renewable energy and rural development projects for over 11 years. His understanding about technology and rural life-style gives the team a unique edge to undertake pilot initiative. Mr. Mahata brings in strong project execution and technical expertise across various aspects of renewable energy technologies such as Biomass gasifier, Biogas, Solar, Improved cook stoves, Briquetting technologies as well as hands on experience on various socio-economic models. Mr. Mahata holds Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Post Graduate diploma in Marketing Management and MBA in Material Management.
Ms. Nidhi Sarin is working as a Technical Expert for IGEN-Access programme of GIZ. She is responsible for policy elements of the programme and leads on the clean cooking energy activities in the team. She has over 10 years of experience in the development sector, specializing in energy and environmental policy. Prior to joining GIZ, Nidhi was with the joint Department of International Development (DFID), and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) UK’s joint team on Energy Climate and Growth. She designed and implemented DFID’s large power sector reforms and multiple FCO renewable energy related programmes in India. She also led on climate and environment aspects of multiple South Asia regional programmes. Ms. Sarin has also worked with the UNESCO on biodiversity and livelihood programmes. She also has experience of working with corporate sector and NGOs on water treatment and research aspects. Ms.Sarin holds a Master’s of Science degree in Environment Management.
Mr. Nilanjan Ghose has a multidisciplinary background and has been working in the development sector for last 14 years. He is working as a Senior Advisor for the Indo-German Energy Programme (IGEN) of GIZ for last 4 years.
His key areas of interest includes to explore finding suitable solutions affecting low income rural households through use of decentralized renewable energy for agriculture. He primarily works with social enterprises, clean energy start-ups on building sustainable business models. Mr. Ghose has been responsible for developing the GIZ’s portfolio on promotion of solar powered irrigation system in general and solar powered irrigation pump in particular. He has also been responsible for some of the publications of the Energy Programme. Mr. Ghose holds Master’s of Science degree in Social policy and development from London School of Economics and Political Science, London and an executive education qualification on ‘Project Management’ from Indian Institute for Management, Ahmedabad.
Mr. Onkar Nath is working as a Technical Expert for IGEN-Access programme of GIZ. He has over 10 years of experience working in development sector mainly in the areas of clean cooking, rural electrification and promotion of productive uses of energy. He played a significant role in registration of Pan India CDM PoA (Clean Development Mechanism-Programme of Activities) (PoA) on improved cookstoves. He has supported Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (UREDA) in drafting the State Level Policy on promotion of pine needles and other biomass-based energy production. Mr.Nath also supported Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) on development of a Private Sector Model for roll out of mini grids and provided inputs to UPNEDA in drafting of Mini Grid policy in the state of Uttar Pradesh. In his current profile, Mr. Nath is responsible for activities in Uttarakhand and North East Region. He is currently implementing projects on strengthening business environment for up-gradation of watermills in the state of Uttarakhand, testing economic vialbility of a mini grid by promoting productive uses of energy and securing end user financing for adoption of RE products in rural areas through peer to peer social lending platform. Mr. Nath holds Master’s of Science degree in Energy Efficiency.
Mr. Sashi Kumar is working as a Technical Expert for IGEN-Access programme of GIZ and currently focusing on clean cooking energy activities and access to finance. The clean cooking energy focus on marketing methods, distribution models and financing. Mr. Kumar has more than 15 years of experience working in developmental sector contributing most of his service in access to finance. He has worked in Microfinance, Small and Medium Enterprise promotion focusing on scaling market led financial product and community owned livelihood initiatives. Prior to GIZ, Mr. Kumar had worked as Assistant General Manager with NABARD Financial Services, Technical specialist with CARE India and Freelance Manager with Intellecash. Mr. Kumar holds masters in Social Work.
Ms. Sucheta Rawat is working as an Operations Manager for IGEN-Access programme of GIZ. She has over 14 years of experience working in development sector with bilateral organisations like DFID resource centres, IDRC and now GIZ. Ms. Rawat has ability to handle multi-disciplinary tasks and navigate challenges. At her professional core, she is specialized in contracts & grant management, financial & budget planning, knowledge management, organizing events, project & Operational Management. In her current profile, she is also the focal person for Result-based monitoring, Communication and Gender. Ms. Rawat holds ‘Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics’ from Delhi University and ‘Master’s in Business Administration’ from Symbiosis Institute of Business Studies. She has also attended Management Development Programme on ‘Managerial Effectiveness’ from Indian Institute of Calcutta (IIMC) and Executive programme on ‘Project Management’ from Indian Institute of Ahmedabad (IIMA).
Mr. Surat Singh Bisht is working as Driver for IGEN-Access programme of GIZ. Mr. Bisht has over 30 years of working experience with different Embassies, leather industry and GIZ. He has been working for GIZ for past 23 years. In his current profile, Mr. Bisht performs Driver duties and additionally, provides administrative support to the team.
